Paralegals are the backbone of every legal team! The majority of paralegals find employment in law firms throughout the country. Next in line are those that work in government offices and corporate law firms. But the number one employer is the US government and in particular the US Justice Department followed closely by the Social Security Administration. That is quite a staggering fact. Most the paralegals are employed by the US government. In fact they sustain the need and demand for them so much so that schools are popping up every day with a paralegal studies program.
If you want to learn how to become a paralegal, make sure you start by enrolling in an accredited paralegal school otherwise you will find it very difficult to find work as a paralegal!
Freelance paralegals are also very common, these work on a contract basis. So if you want to spend time with your family or be in charge of your own time then freelance work might be for you. These are the workplaces available if you’re thinking of beginning a career as a paralegal.
Once you have your formal educational requirements completed – contact the local regulatory body in your area to gain certification. A must if you want to work in this industry.
